Alonso: McLaren could be "first and second" without engine deficit
"We would have liked to be there but in general it was a very positive day," said Alonso. "In Q2 until the final attempt we were 1.5 seconds off on a track where we know how much we are losing with the engine, so we would easily be in first and second positions."
He added: "The battery didn't work and I lost six tenths from Turn 11 to 12. I was two tenths quicker than on the previous lap so I would have improved one or two more in the final sector, so we would have been in Q3 without any problems. "In the end, starting 11th with new tyres maybe gives us an extra opportunity so we'll try to take advantage tomorrow."

在阿隆索看來,邁凱倫本可以跑的更快。“總的來說今天是積極的一天,我們會喜歡前排的位置的。在Q2末段的嘗試裡我們落後了1.5秒。但是引擎的水平我們心裡有數,(要不是它的原因)我們可以輕鬆排到前二。我的電池罷工了,在11號彎損失了0.6。本來我比上一圈快了0.2秒,進Q3是板上釘釘的事。”
“不過能用新胎起步也是個優勢,明天看吧。”
在排位賽中阿隆索利用了隊友的尾流,範多恩本站中因為罰退將從末尾起步。阿隆索表示在下週的意大利站中他會回饋隊友的。
“這是我們計劃好的,下週的比賽就輪到我來帶他了。我們希望能利用罰退來取得一些優勢。我們盡力為車隊取得最好的成績。”
